Yoga

Yoga with its mystical enigma and allure proves to be a rather difficult subject to discuss in today’s modern world. This ancient concept has somehow lost its real meaning through globalization. To assist in the comprehension of this intriguing philosophy, people have simplified a unique concept into the modern day understanding of the ancient day yoga. Westerners may find the contents to be complex and not easily understood. It is wrong to assume a position of authority on a particular subject when you have only grasped the basics of the matter. It becomes a distorted view when westerners perceive yoga as a physical activity. The once respected and revered philosophy has been reduced to a mere speech of attaining inner balance and peace.

It has its origins in the Hindu religion and is a physical manifestation representing one of the six schools of Hindu thought. Indians understand that is not a mere physical activity, but yoga is part of a spiritual development that is realized through a systematic and disciplined physical approach. The westerner’s viewpoint that yoga is a physical activity is very yogawrong and distorted. Most westerners are aware of the strange symbols associated with yoga practice, but often they are misunderstood. It is practiced as a popular sport. Additionally, people who desire inner tranquility would often find this practice to be beneficial. It also does a good job attracting those who wish to obtain inner peace and balance in the midst of the hectic modern lifestyle.

This perception is often strengthened by the various claims made by the so called yoga masters. The numerous amount of fatal errors found in the practice of yoga outside of India shows that this art has been widely misunderstood at large. Closer observation reveals that the unique culture of each race has dramatically influenced the way yoga is practiced. It appears that the west is not prepared to pay the price necessary to gain a deeper understanding of this philosophy. Sometimes, the most important part of this practice is neglected, for instance the essential meditation. Westerners have different goals and priorities, and the insatiable desire to accumulate massive amounts of wealth certainly has no place in the system of values among the Hindus. True wisdom, as defined by the parameters of the Hindu religion would be an impossible feat to achieve when this paradigm is adopted. Patience and time is crucial for meditation.

Obviously, the people from the west have no endurance to fulfill such demands. Obsessed with the need to accumulate as much wealth as possible, therefore the thought of having to spend time in such sessions would be considered a mere waste of precious time.

Yoga is practiced more as a form of recreational activity to fulfill a stylish lifestyle. If you are interested to take up yoga as a part of your lifestyle, you can get hold of some of those materials that are available, promoting this practice as a form of sports. Even fake gurus have support from their adoring disciples. Obedient disciples of this distorted form of yoga have become agents of growth of this unhealthy philosophy.
