Insurance policy can help your loved ones during tough times.

by Todd Martin

One of the many uncertainties in this world concerns our health. We never actually know how the cards will fall. Although we all expect to live long and healthy lives, fate can deal us a different hand. This is why we have to prepare ourselves and those we leave behind. Finding the right life insurance company is no simple task. Whether we want to pay a monthly fee for the mere possibility of a disability or accident involving our health, we hardly have a choice. Life is just too unpredictable. The first time I was approached by a life insurance company by mail, I tossed it in the trash without a second thought.

Depending on the type of life insurance you buy, you get return benefits accordingly. Generally life insurance is designed in such a way that it benefits the beneficiary more then the person insured. It is done so because when you pass away and there is no one to take care of them, then it is the insurance company who will take care of them by taking care of any liabilities and other cost factors that may come. I remember when one I told one of my close friends the benefits of life insurance he readily agreed for taking one life insurance policy.

As he was having nice and steady job, he decided to take a Term life insurance. Everything was going on fine, unfortunately my friend met with an accident and passed away. My friend had taken a home loan and a car loan and all these were taken care of by his insurance company. The other day I had gone to see his wife, although she was in the pain of losing her husband but still she was happy about the wise decision that her husband had taken due to which at least his family is saved from the financial mess that could have been created if her husband had not taken a Term life insurance.

For example, a close friend of mine in college was suddenly hospitalized. She didn’t know what was wrong with her, but she was suddenly ill. After the doctor checked her out, she found out that she had meningitis. Yikes! Well, she didn’t have health insurance. This ended up costing her over seven grand. It took her a good time to recover that amount of money, which could be termed as loss of time. Had she taken up an insurance policy, she could have saved that money. No matter if you’re young or old, it is always wise to check into health insurance.

Well, if you stipulate this type of insurance with your company, you can receive a disability policy. We hate to think that this could happen, but we truly never know. A good place to begin your search for a life insurance company is the Internet. You can find a variety of plans and quotes that should best fit your concerns and income. In reality, we can never be certain of the future, therefore it is always prudent to plan ahead. One must always plan for his or her future. Life insurance is a must for every individual.

Puppy Teeth - How to Keep Them Clean

by Geraldine Dimarco

Ideally, dog teeth cleaning should be a routine part of your pet’s regular care and their teeth should be brushed on a daily basis, or at least every other day or so. Because dog teeth are just as susceptible to disease and decay as are human teeth, it’s extremely important keep tartar and plaque at bay to protect your dog’s precious health.

Dental Disease and Your Dog’s Health

Diseases of the mouth, teeth, and gums can be very painful for your pooch and because they aren’t able to tell us when they have a toothache, as pet owners we must be diligent in keeping up with our dog’s dental care. If left untreated, a tooth infection may develop into serious complication for your dog and affect vital organs such as their heart, liver, or kidneys.

You dog’s diet has a real impact on their dental health. Dog food and treats which are fortified and made specifically to keep your dogs’ teeth in good shape are a healthy choice for your pet. While you can have your dogs’ teeth cleaned by your vet, this is very expensive and since your dog must be anesthetized for this to be done, can actually be dangerous for your pet! Professional cleaning should only be done in extreme cases.

Cleaning Your Dog’s Teeth

With patience and perseverance, you can get your dog to become comfortable with tooth brushing. You adult dog or puppy can learn to have their teeth brushed by using your finger and a canine favorite; peanut butter!

Your pet will lick your finger (and the peanut butter). You can start rubbing their teeth and gums while praising your dog. After a few days you r dog will become accustomed to this and you can start trying it with a piece of gauze wrapped around your finger. Rub the teeth and gums with your finger just as you would with a toothbrush. When your dog gets used to this procedure, you can start using a real toothbrush.

You should not use toothpaste which is made for humans, as this will cause your dog to have an upset stomach. There is toothpaste designed for dogs which have a taste and smell which appeal to your pet. Let your dog lick a little off of the brush and then add more and start brushing.

Lift your dogs’ gums so that you can reach their teeth, especially the canines. Hold the brush at a 45 degree angle for the best result. This lets you clean the gums and teeth at the same time. Brush using a circular motion and don’t forget your dogs’ back teeth, which are more susceptible to disease and decay.

Make dog tooth cleaning time a happy time for your dog. Stay calm so your dog won’t get too excited. It should only take about a minute a day for effective dog teeth cleaning and maintain their good health.

5 Things You Need to Know: Buying Massage Chairs at Tradeshows

by Steve Esquire

If you are feeling out the market for massage chairs, then consider going to a Home Show or County Fair. You may find massage chair vendors. We have had many clients buy massage chairs at Fairs, for instance, and then only have a series of problems. We checked into a number of these venues as mystery shoppers posing as serious buyers. Based on input from our customers and our own firsthand look, we offer 5 tips to avoid mistakes, so you get the best massage chair to meet your long term needs.

1. Massage Chair Motors are Vital: You want to find out 2 things. Find out where the motors are made. The best motors come from Japan. They are precision made and long lasting. The motors need sufficient torque to power through the massage, since all your weight is put on them. You also want to ask how many motors they have. It is far better to have fewer high quality motors then many. You want to avoid getting low quality motors or you will have many service calls in the future.

2. Check Out the Warranty: There are 2 things to check on the warranty. First, what is the coverage offered? Second, can the company cover the warranty? For a $3,000 massage chair, you should get 3 years parts, 3 years labor and minimum 90 days in home technician service. Now, the more important question, will they be around to make good on the warranty! You need to go with a reputable massage chair maker. One that has retail clients such as chain stores, etc. There are too many massage chair vendors that are just one man operations and may not be there down the road.

3. We Get Our Massage Chair From Panasonic’s Factory: One of our favorite sales claims is where the massage chair comes from or where it is made. Some of our customers told us that salespeople would claim to get their massage chair from Panasonic’s factory. This is a weird claim and we see it as a tactic to get you to believe somehow their quality is the same, but of course at a substantial discount to the Panasonic chair. Now, how could this be? It must be the same as the Panasonic, be careful!

4. Can’t Find the Kitchen Sink: We were surprised at how some of the booths were set up for some vendors at Home Shows and County Fairs. There are many manufacturer’s that display at these shows and they will have 1 or 2 models to try. On the other hand, there are small importers that just got a container load of everything but the kitchen sink. Their booth is piled high with the stuff and they have a massage chair crammed in there as well. Be careful, that the chair being offered wasn’t just the last great deal he got. Because after the sale, the chair becomes your problem. They may not have a national technician service network or even parts on hand. Go with the major brands and you will not regret it!

5. The Deal is Too Good to Be True: Finally if a chair is selling way below market value of a name brand chair. You may be thinking, Wow, I can’t believe the deal I am getting. It is almost too good to be true. Well, we hate to say it, but? Chances are it is too good to be true! Stay away! You’re probably buying a refurbished chair or a piece of absolute junk. You get what you pay for!

We have put these tips together from many of our customers that have made these mistakes and we are passing this one so you do not fall into these same traps. There are many excellent massage chairs on the market. They will bring you years of enjoyment and relief. Take your time and find the right model from a reputable manufacturer. This will ensure years of relaxation (rather than frustration).

New Idea: Hand Held Medical Information Storage Device

by Ethan Calvin

A new idea has emerged in health care: a small mobile device that stores health information and you can upload it online. These mobile devices are marketed to those who are busy, on the go and in need of an easier way to manage their health needs.

Users can use these hand-held gizmos for writing down symptoms, storing important health care data to give a health care provider, or even alerting themselves when it’s time to take a pill, reported a Sunday New York Times article.

We are wondering if this is enough to be a possible new trend in health care. We are not really thinking so. These devices cost about $200, which does not seem like it is worth the money.

There is, though, a software program that’s compatible with mobile devices like the iPhone. That might be a good idea. Also, electronic medical information and health records will likely become more prevalent as time goes on. Maybe there will be a demand for these after all.

We’d probably be more on board if the devices helped people manage their health insurance plans. They could provide reminders about monthly premiums, let you do a quick check to see if a medical service or prescription drug is covered, or if a health care provider is in your health plan’s network. We might be on to something

What Are The Most Popular Diet Plans? CLICK HERE & Find Out!

by Jessica A. Andersen

It is hard to turn on the television today and not see an added some sort or one weight-loss plan or another. It begs the question, if they work, why are there so many different kinds? Knowing your body and how it works will let you pick from many diet to market the best one for you. Below I’ve described some of the more popular weight-loss programs and and provided links to some new promising ones.

1. Jenny Craig. This diet needs no introduction its spokespeople Kirstie Alley and Valerie Bertinelli are all over the media. We’ve seen Kirstie Alley shrink from a behemoth to merely a very large woman. And Valerie Bertinelli has made a remarkable transformation. This plan has one big drawback. It is extremely expensive. The mAonthly fee while only $20 does not hint at or reveal that the actual cost is much more. The food is great but expensive. On the plus side the plan matches you with counselor with whom you can speak about your progress or lack thereof when you go in for weigh ins.

2. Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers has by and far been the most successful plan on the market for some time. No food is off limits. The POINTS system allows you to eat whatever you want as long as you don’t exceed the daily point value for your weight group. The literature and meetings teach members how to make better food choices so they can eat more and not feel hungry. Exercise is encouraged but it is not necessary for the program to work. Still, exercise is a vital part of our total health and you should consider adding it to any diet you partake in.

3. South Beach. This diet has attracted a lot of people mostly because of the idea that they can lose up to thirteen pounds in the first two weeks. The first two weeks are the most restrictive of the entire program. The idea is to reprogram the body to metabolize food. Slowly, the foods that were restricted are added back in to balance out the diet. It also helps that South Beach has gone mainstream with products like frozen meals, bars, and cereals on grocery store shelves.

4. Nutrisystem. The Nutrisystem diet centers around the glycemic index. A rating system for carbohydrates. He carb is low on this index is one that releases energy and very slow rate throughout the day. This means that the sugar levels in the body will remain stable when you eat low glycemic index carbohydrates. On the other hand, high glycemic foods are those that cause a surge in blood sugar. These foods give you a burst of energy but you crash afterwards. In this diet meals come in ready-made, prepackaged containers. There is no calorie counting, fat watching, or carb calculation.

So how you you choose the right diet for you? All of them are promising and will work. Let me help you. Reduce Cellulite: Your Plan Of Attack

by Lisa Adams

If you are one of the millions of women who have spent money on cellulite creams and lotions, let me ask you a question … did they work?

For your sake, I hope they did, because no woman wants cellulite, on their thighs, rear ends or anywhere. The fact is, cellulite is present on just about every woman over the age of puberty, and there are hereditary factors at play as well. Some of us, though, have more visible cellulite than others.

And for those of you that have plunked down your hard earned cash for so-called miracle cellulite solutions that haven’t worked, let’s talk about real solutions. It’s very easy to buy into hype. Unfortunately, hype doesn’t have staying power. If you’re finding your cellulite has staying power though, here’s some straight talk facts and an action plan to finally reduce cellulite.

First off, cellulite is fat. There, we said it. Cellulite is fat just like any other fat, except it usually looks worse. Even though we’re bombarded every day by marketing messages claiming an instant miracle cure to melt away fat, all those pie in the sky promises do is leave you disillusioned and disappointed.

If you’re finally ready to get past the instant cure mindset, you can indeed significantly reduce cellulite. Will getting results mean changing your lifestyle? Yes, probably. Will reducing cellulite mean you’ll have to work at it a bit? Definitely. But if you carry through with a sound, reasonable action plan, will you see the results you want? Absolutely!

OK … here’s an action plan to help you reduce cellulite, once and for all. First, let’s talk about your diet. Not a diet, YOUR diet. Don’t go on a fad diet that says you have to eat celery and carrot sticks (you get the point). That’s not reasonable and you won’t stick with it. My recommendation is to change your lifestyle gradually. Eliminate one fast food meal per week and pack a healthy lunch instead. Substitute a glass of water for that latte or soda once per day. Little changes add up over the course of time. If your goal is more near term, implement these changes more quickly.

Next, you’ll need to commit to some aerobic activity. It really isn’t that hard, and we’ve got an easy to follow, but challenging, treadmill workout that’ll really burn calories and tone your problem cellulite areas. Here goes …

Plan for a 45 minute treadmill workout. If you’re just starting or have restrictions, substitute walking for running in our example. A friend and I have been doing this workout for 6 months, and it’s an outstanding fat burning workout. For the most part, you’ll break up the 45 minutes into 5 minute intervals to keep things fun, fresh, and challenging. Spend the 45 workout doing this:

1. 5 minute warm up walk at whatever speed works for you.

2. 5 minute walk at the same speed but with the treadmill incline at 5 degrees.

3. 5 minute jog, incline at 5 degrees, at a speed that requires you to jog.

4. 5 minute walk at treadmill incline 5 degrees.

At this point, you’ve completed 20 minutes, your heart rate is up, and you’re warmed up. Excellent! Now it’s time for 15 minutes of interval training. This will be more challenging, but should be easy to do since it’ll be in 3 minute increments. 3 minutes x 5 intervals = 15 minutes.

Interval One: Run/Jog 1 minute at treadmill incline 6 degrees. Now walk two minutes, reducing speed but leaving the treadmill incline at 6.

Interval Two: Run/Jog 1 minute at incline 7 degrees, walk 2 minutes at incline 7.

Interval Three: Run/Jog 1 minute at incline 8 degrees, walk 2 minutes at the same incline.

Interval Four: Run/Jog 1 minute at incline 9 degrees, walk 2 minutes also at 9 degrees.

Interval Five: Run/Jog 1 minute at incline 10 degrees, walk 2 minutes at incline 10.

You’ve now done 35 minutes. It’s time to start cooling down!

5 minute walk at incline 5 degrees.

Finally, a 5 minute cool down walk with no incline.

That’s 45 minutes, and you’ve gotten a great fat burning workout, with particular emphasis on your cellulite problem areas (thighs and rear end). The best part about this workout is it’s easily adaptable. Make it harder or easier according to your fitness level.

Also, this workout keeps you engaged and involved, and you’ll find the time will move quickly, as opposed to simply walking or jogging at the same speed, which can seem an eternity. Combined with some healthier eating habits, performing this fat blasting workout three times per week will reshape your body in ways you’ve never dreamed possible!

Hypnotherapy and the Benefits of Hypnotism

by Mark Allen

Hypnotism and hypnotherapy have long been recognized for the benefits they can bring. In the last one hundred years, it has been studied, tested, and refined. Today it provides benefits for millions of people.

For centuries people have looked for different ways to improve themselves and alleviate suffering. Psychology, and psychiatry, psychology are devoted to trying to understand and improve the human condition.

Along the way, there have been many efforts at “alternative” healing and self-improvement. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy fall into this category.

The reasons for undergoing hypnotherapy or hypnosis are numerous. They include relief from both physical and emotional disorders, as well as the desire to reach one’s potential and improve one’s self.

Hypnotism can address physical problems like over-eating and weight loss, as well as emotional issues such as anger and low self-confidence or self-esteem.

Hypnosis is also helpful in remedying addictions and habits and addictions such as cigarette smoking, gambling, even drug and alcohol abuse.

Hypnosis has even been used to treat the symptoms of severe medical problems like cancer and diabetes. Surgical patients have been able to undergo pain-free surgery with minimal anesthesia, and recovery times are reduced.

Hypnotism and hypnotherapy isnt the ultimate “cure-all”, or even necessarily the best available alternative. But is has become increasingly clear that there are wonderful and lasting benefits to this type of therapy and self-help.
